I Think it Must be Love...

I have started a new project. I have done plenty of sweaters, hats, blankets and more, but, believe it or not, this is my very first shawl. It is a pattern that I have loved for a long time. The Ginkgo Shoulderette Shawl is a perfect blend of stockinette (I confess, I love the look of stockinette) and decoration along the edge.

I just needed the perfect yarn to go with it. When I got an incredible early birthday present of Anzula Luxury Fibers Squishy, I knew it was the perfect yarn for this project. I took a little bit of time to get started because I love the anticipation of a new pattern and a new yarn. I don't think I should have waited. Both the yarn and pattern are better than anticipated. I love, love, love the feel of the yarn on my fingers! Maybe it's the super soft merino, maybe it's the added cashmere, but it feels lovely when I'm knitting. I was only supposed to cast on and maybe do a row or two before getting back to cleaning. Yeah, it didn't happen quite like that ;) But I love it so far!

Sooooo pretty. That red color is fabulous! One of my favorite things about the Anzula Squishy is that it has subtle color variation to give interest, but not so much it's distracting. Keep going! We need status update pics.
